Undergraduate families with annual incomes below $75,000 will not be expected to pay tuition, room or board at Stanford, up from the current $65,000 threshold. General tuition will not increase in 2021-22, while room and board charges will increase modestly.
Denning, known for her advocacy of the arts and humanities at Stanford, has been elected to the university’s Board of Trustees. Her term begins Feb. 1.
Stanford alumnus Jerry Yang, founding partner of AME Cloud Ventures and co-founder of Yahoo!, was elected chair of the Stanford University Board of Trustees, succeeding Jeff Raikes.
In a series of remote meetings, the board discussed the ongoing pandemic, new construction, the university’s engagement with the external world and Long-Range Vision progress.
At their Oct. 4-6 meeting, trustees discussed the university’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, heard an update on the Long-Range Vision, and approved a campus committee’s recommendation to remove David Starr Jordan’s name from campus spaces and to relocate the statue of Louis Agassiz outside Jordan Hall.
At its Feb. 9-11 meeting, the Board of Trustees also took action on facilities projects being planned and discussed investment responsibility, among other items.
Beginning in 2020-21, Stanford will provide scholarship support to cover the price of undergraduate tuition for parents with annual incomes below $150,000, up from the current $125,000 threshold.
